KIMONO JACKETS: A Fashion Trend You Should Be Following This Fall
Updated: Nov 21, 2018
There is a long layered frock that keeps floating around on my Instagram and it is extremely heavy on my style radar. It doesn't seem to be going away anytime soon, and I am definitely okay with that.....(drum roll please)......it's none other than the **Kimono Jacket**. I have been seeing Kimono Jackets/Robes on some very stylish ladies for the past 2 years now and I am all here for it... every single thread of it. Kimonos usually make their fashion mark in the spring and summer but it seems they will be blessing us with their presence also for the fall. I purchased my amazing Kimono Jacket by Universal Thread from the infamous Target.....(this is starting to be a no-brainer now). I must admit I'm not the biggest trend hopper, but I must say that this trend is definitely one worth hopping and maybe even clinging onto. My only question is what the heck are these frocks called. I am seeing so many names to describe them. Robes, Cardigans, Kimonos, Kimono Jackets....Please... Please... Please....Designers, Fashion Journalists, Stylists...JUST PICK ONE...ONE NAME. That's all I ask. I made my decision and I am going with Kimono Jacket. That's what I call it and I'm sticking to it.
The floral detail of this Kimono Jacket is what really won me over...NOT TO MENTION...The fabric is so thick and cozy. I love how it camouflages my indiscretions (a.k.a. the tummy that annihilates cake donuts). I think this Kimono Jacket is perrrrrfect for women who are 30+. I chose my accessories very wisely. A yellow statement necklace was definitely necessary to set off the other red accessories that I was just clearly so committed to at the time of styling. TBH I'm not really sure why I put on all this red. I'm not really a matchy-matchy type of lady, but it just worked this time. -------Sidenote...I cannot believe that I will be 34 next month. I'm not really sure what this means to me. I will be doing a separate post this week on how I feel about graduating from my early 30's to my mid 30's. I honestly feel like 34 could still be considered young 30's but WHATEVER!
(You already know that I am linking a few glorious Kimono Jackets down below for you...so don't skip out on your glory moment.)
