Drunk In Love with Drunk Elephant Products

Updated: Aug 14, 2018

Drunk Elephant Skincare

Over the years I have really put a great deal of effort into having a great skincare regimen. It has taken me several years to get it exactly where I need it to be. I have tried so many products from the drugstore, but I have yet to be permanently impressed. I never thought I would take a walk over to the wild side of luxury skincare. I didn't believe that they truly produced results any different than what a drugstore product could do. I WAS WRONG!!!

My Skin Type:

I consider my skin type to be combination and texture prone. My skin experiences very specific dry surfaces that get very crusty and flaky. If my skin is not properly moisturized (In which is hasn't been for months) I get clusters of bumps. Not to mention, I wear makeup very often. I also am not the best at washing my pillow cases weekly. (I'm in so much shame to admit this dirty little blemished secret about me.)

I recently discovered Drunk Elephant products and I have been obsessed with using them.

I have been using them for a short period of time, but I have definitely seen results.

My absolute favorite is the Protini Polypeptide. It is SUPER amazing. I plan to do a full in depth review after I have had a full six months using all of their products, but I figured I would give a mini review of these products that I have so far.

The Drunk Elephant Philosophy:

Drunk Elephant uses ingredients that maintain the integrity of healthy skin. Ingredients are based on biocompatibility. The brand believes that there are six common ingredients that are the main cause of skin issues. They deem these ingredients the “Suspicious 6” in our products (Essential Oils, Drying Alcohols, Silicones, Chemical Screens, Fragrance/Dyes and SLS,) Drunk Elephant's product formulation focuses on pH levels, safety and making sure that the active ingredients are at efficacious levels.

My Drunk Elephant Product Experience:

Protini Polypeptide Cream:

Amazing for combination skin types that suffers from specific dryness in certain areas. The products is light in consistency and very creamy. My skin tends to accumulate clusters of bumps on my forehead due to excessive dryness, but since I have been using the Protini Polypeptide Cream, my forehead has not been experiencing these cluster of bumps. I have used so many moisturizers and no moisturizer has the effect of the Protini. My skin feels so moisturized after using these products and it lasts for a long time. I can't really say that I have experienced that in the past with other moisturizers.

Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil:

This oil adds a richness of moisture that is unparalleled. The products is light to medium in consistency. I love it because it is not runny and it's not messy either. It is a great companion for the Protini and it leaves my skin feeling super moisturized. I love to layer the Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil with my other Drunk Elephant products.

T.L.C Framboos Glycolic Night Serum:

When I first used this product it gave my skin a bit of a tingle. It has a extremely light gel base consistency. it still gives my skin a bit of a tingle from time to time. (THIS IS HOW I KNOW IT IS WORKING IT'S MAGICAL UNICORN POWERS). I hit a home run with this product when I first tried it. It truly gave me overnight results. I had so much texture on my face from my previous skincare mashaps that I had been suffering from for months. I decided to use the Framboos to correct my skin. After one use it minimized my pores, refined and smoothed out my texture overnight. This is no joke. It acutally happened and I was in shock. I have noticed that my skin has adapted to this product, so the products does not work as quickly anymore. However, my skin has become more refined over time after consistently using these products nightly. I still experience occasional pimples and very little texture. (In which, I cannot escape, because I work out multiple times a week and wear makeup very often. But, my skin has changed dramatically and I have been able to better manage my skin sensitivity and texture concerns.

T.L.C Sukari Babyfacial:

This product knocked my socks off, literally. It gave me the most extreme tingle sensation of my life that eventually went a way after 3-5 minutes of wearing it on my face. This product really feels like it's cleaning out the pores. I can't say much about this product, because it didn't give me overnight success, but it definitely made me want to keep testing it out for six months. I didn't expect it to give me overnight results, because that is very rare and not common for a skincare product. The Framboos was clearly sent from heaven. I'm in it for the long run so, I will continue to use the Sakuri Babyfacial weekly as instructed.

Ultrasheer Physical Daily Denfese Broad Spectrum Sunscreen:

I am very much still on the fence about this product. It does leave a white cast, but it feels very light on face. I will keep experimenting with this product on the face to get a final impression. Stay Tuned.

*These products were gifted to me, but they are all completely my thoughts.
